In Freemasonry, a Past Master refers to a member who has previously served as the Worshipful Master of a Masonic lodge. The Worshipful Master is the highest-ranking officer in a Masonic lodge and is responsible for presiding over meetings, leading the lodge, and ensuring that its rituals and traditions are upheld.

Once a Masonic member has completed their term as Worshipful Master, they are then referred to as a Past Master. This title is an honorary one, recognizing their past service and leadership within the lodge. Past Masters often play a significant role in the continued guidance and support of the lodge, drawing on their experience and knowledge to assist the current leadership.
